Our Vision

A future where veterans thrive free from stress and invisible wounds.

We see a generation ahead when veterans struggling with anxiety, PTSD, anger, and substance abuse find the support and tools they need to heal. Roughly 38% to 43% of all veterans face mental health challenges-a crisis demanding compassionate action. That future is being built today by those committed to veteran wellness, and our role is to provide the resources and partnership every veteran deserves.

What we see

The change we are working toward.

Our mission guides how we serve today. Our vision is where that work is heading. It is a description of the world we believe is possible: one where veterans suffering from stress, anxiety, PTSD, anger issues, and substance abuse challenges receive the compassionate, accessible support they deserve and can reclaim their lives.

Getting there is generational work. It will outlast any single grant cycle, any single leader, any single foundation. But it is not vague. We can describe it, measure progress toward it, and adjust when the evidence tells us to. That clarity is what keeps the day-to-day decisions accountable to something bigger than themselves.

This is the future we are putting our weight behind. Every program, every partnership, every resource is a small step toward it. We are not the only ones pushing in this direction, and we should not be. The vision belongs to the field, and we are one steady, patient participant in pursuit of it.

Our commitment

How we measure progress in helping veterans heal.

A vision without concrete goals is just a hope. Here is how Stress Free Vets will know our work is making a real difference for veterans struggling with stress, anxiety, PTSD, and related challenges.

By 2027

Strong foundations

We establish peer support networks and evidence-based stress management programs in our first service regions, with veteran participants tracking their own progress and outcomes.

By 2030

Growing partnerships

Collaborations with mental health providers, VA facilities, and community organizations are measuring veteran wellness outcomes and sharing results transparently.

By 2032

Research informing care

Our program data and veteran stories have influenced how peer support and stress-relief resources are funded and delivered across the veteran community.

By 2035

Veterans leading the way

The veterans we serve are designing and leading their own peer support initiatives, with Stress Free Vets as a trusted resource and collaborative partner in their healing journey.

Nearly 4 in 10 veterans struggle with mental health challenges. We believe every veteran deserves support.
